Mother of Pearl and A Thank You Letter

I was very firm when I told my husband not to buy me another birthday present, especially the expensive one, and save his money instead. He insisted. Last night, he dragged me to a watch shop in JB and asked me to choose the watch that I like. I told him to just leave the shop but he didn't want to do it as according to him, he has promised me a watch since last year. But anyway, in the end I just told him the nicest one in my eyes amongst the so many available ladies watch choices there. He just loves to doll me up. (Lucky me!)

My husband is very particular about Swiss-made watches. To him, a good quality watch has to be a Swiss-made. After long arguments, bargains and Q & A sessions with the shop keepers, finally he asked them to prepare the sale receipt of White Tissot Trend T-Wave for ladies. There you go. The watch shop just sealed another big deal for the day. Bless them. And I got a very nice Swiss-made brand new watch from my husband. Bless me. Thank him so much!

Another sweet late birthday present from my husband!
I never thought I'd love bling-bling and other accessorizes now.

I was tired and super sleepy when he asked me to pose with my new watch last night but I was a one happy woman.
Who doesn't love presents?

There is one thing that I found very interesting about this watch. Its white dial is made of Mother of Pearl. I heard of pearls and shells but I never heard of Mother of Pearl. Is it a name of a famous Goddess from the Sea that I never knew before? A western myth? A type of pearl? Or what?

When we reached the restaurant and had a chance to sit down, both of us quickly searched for Mother of Pearl in Wikipedia through mobile's internet.

A picture of iridescence Nacre inside a nautilus shell from Wikipedia.

Nacre or Mother of Pearl is a blend of minerals that are secreted by oysters and other mollusks and deposited inside their shells, coating and protecting their bodies from parasites and foreign objects. Nacre is the same substance that is deposited around an object that becomes lodged in the mollusk, either naturally or inserted by humans, to become a pearl. It is very strong, resilient and iridescent. Jewelry made from Mother of Pearl is in the group called organic jewelry, which includes all jewelry that originates from a living creature, plant or other living organism.*

Interesting huh? Just from buying a new thing, we accidentally learned something new last night.

To conclude our dates, Kodak moments are must to do for us, whenever possible.

Us: After the watch shopping - Having dinner at Kenny Rogers' Steak Restaurant, JB

And that's all for the Saturday night date in JB. After clearing the Kenny Rogers' half smoked BBQ chicken, we were ready to go back to Singapore, before the bad traffic jam to Woodlands hit us.
Dear Husband,

Thank you, thank you, thank you very much for everything.

Your wife.
